First Lady Pamela S. Price

That sounds like circus music!” I remember very vividly saying those words some twenty-seven years ago, as a cynical, sarcastic young man. I had no way of knowing at that time, that God was setting me up for something great and spectacular. I am glad that the words that I spoke that day did not deter the now, Mrs. Pamela S. Price from her mission to play the organ. If anything, it encouraged her more.

Let’s go back to the beginning. Pamela S. Price formerly, Pamela Sharon Abrams (Lacey) was born and raised in Chicago, IL under the guidance of Mr. Fred & Mrs. Mattie A. Lacey. The Lacey family provided a Christian home and atmosphere that embedded the love of God and music in Pamela, and her siblings.

Pamela was reared at the Prayer Tower Church of God In Christ (COGIC) of the Fifth Jurisdiction of Illinois. She served as a choir director, singer, and musician in the Music Department. She was very active on the district, and state levels. Pamela trained choirs for a number of years. She later went internationally in Germany where she served as District Minister of Music.

As the Lord would have it during a visit to Chicago to see my brother, I, Elder Charles L. Price saw and fell in love with Pamela. There was something distinct and different about her. Later after I enlisted in the U.S. Army, we started off with a long distant relationship. After learning I was to be stationed in Germany, I decided to take a leap of faith and ask for Pamela’s hand in marriage. She accepted, and we have now been married for over 25 years, and are the proud parents of four children: Charles L. II, Avan, Charmaine, and VonDelle.
